A 12-year-old boy was seriously injured in a Newport Beach car accident after he was hit by a Dodge pickup truck the morning of October 30, 2009. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the accident occurred along MacArthur Boulevard near Ford Road. The pickup truck was apparently traveling south on MacArthur when the boy ran out into traffic, Newport Beach police officials said. The boy was transported to an area hospital and was said to have been "alert and talking" at the time. His condition was however listed as serious.

A 25-year-old man was killed in a San Bernardino car accident the morning of October 30, 2009, the San Bernardino Sun reports. The accident reportedly occurred at the intersection of Arrow Route and Robinia Street in Fontana during the early morning hours. The driver, whose name has not yet been released, was on Arrow, traveling east in a 2003 Honda Accord, when he hit the back of a semi truck, San Bernardino County Coroner's officials said. California Highway Patrol officials are investigating this fatal car accident.

Two people sustained injuries in a car accident in Orange County the morning of October 27, 2009, The Orange County Register reports. The accident occurred at the intersection of Magnolia Street and Orangewood Avenue in Garden Grove when a blue Toyota Corolla collided with a silver Chrysler 300. The Corolla then rolled over slamming into a gutter on the westbound side of Orangewood. The Chrysler came to a stop around 50 feet farther down the street. Two people were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. A child, who was pulled out from the overturned Corolla, was uninjured, police said.

A man was injured in a Los Angeles car accident the morning of October 22, 2009 after the bicycle he was riding collided with a car at a Castaic intersection. According to a news report in The Santa Clarita Signal, a 28-year-old woman was turning left onto Lake Hughes Road from Diamond Lane when the bicyclist heading eastbound struck the woman's 2000 Honda Accord. The 25-year-old bicyclist sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

A woman sustained injuries in an Orange County car accident when her foot was run over by a vehicle as she crossed a freeway off-ramp. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the pedestrian-car crash occurred the night of October 25, 2009. The woman who has not been identified yet, said she was walking in a crosswalk at the 5 Freeway off-ramp on El Toro Road in Lake Forest when her foot was struck. California Highway Patrol officials are dealing with this car accident because the crosswalk is part of the freeway.

Eric Sean Enockson, 36, was killed in a San Diego car accident after his motorcycle was rear-ended and dragged down Interstate 8 by a hit-and-run driver who was later arrested for driving under the influence. The fatal motorcycle accident occurred the morning of October 17, 2009 when 27-year-old Claudia Herrera, who was driving a Chevrolet Astro van at about 100 mph, crashed into the back of the motorcycle. Enockson was dragged under the van for quite a distance as Herrera continued on the freeway, California Highway Patrol officials said. Herrera was later arrested not far from the scene of the accident on suspicion of felony driving under the influence, hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter.

Placerville Pines Care Center in Sacramento is facing $100,000 in fines after state inspectors alleged that nursing home negligence caused the death of a patient at the facility. According to a news report in KCRA News, the Placerville nursing home got an AA citation from the California Department of Public Health. Investigators say the facility failed to adequately assess the patient and notify the physician when the patient's condition changed. State investigators found that this failure directly contributed to the patient's death.

A 7-year-old child sustained injuries in a San Diego car accident the morning of October 22, 2009 on the way to school. According to a 10news report, the child was hit on Byrd Street near Finney Elementary School in the Otay Mesa area of San Diego. Paramedics took the injured child to an area hospital. The identity, gender or nature of injuries to the child, are not known at this time.

Zhen Huang, 48, suffered critical injuries in an California car accident after she was struck by a pickup truck while crossing a busy intersection in Stanton, California. According to The Orange County Register, Huang was walking home the afternoon of October 20, 2009 when the pedestrian-car accident occurred. Huang was walking in a marked crosswalk, but cut a corner as she neared the curb. It was then that a light blue truck making a left from Pacific Avenue on to Magnolia hit her. But the driver did not stop. Instead Huang was dragged about 10 feet. The truck then slowed down briefly and drove away.
