David Tanner, 24, was killed in an Orange County car accident after he was struck at an intersection by a vehicle and then run over by another car. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, Tanner was riding his Yamaha R1 motorcycle east on Orangewood Avenue in Garden Grove, the evening of December 29, 2009, when he was hit by a westbound BMW sedan that turned left ahead of him on to Mac Nab Street. Nine people suffered injuries in an Oregon car accident on the Oregon 20 near Albany, the night of December 24, 2009. According to a news report in The Oregonian, a 1991 Ford Taurus driven by 19-year-old Andrew Scott Tokstad was going west when it crossed the centerline and crashed into an eastbound 2006 Suzuki Forenza that was being driven by 18-year-old Andrea Logan. Six people were injured in an Orange County car accident the afternoon of December 28, 2009, after an elderly man crashed his sedan into a restaurant in Anaheim Hills. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury accident occurred at the 700 block of South Weir Canyon Road, when the 79-year-old man stepped on the gas of his Honda Accord, instead of the brakes, and crashed through the front of a Subway restaurant. Ralph Abinader, 24, was killed in a Newport Beach car accident after the Ferrari in which he was a passenger went out of control and crashed into a tow truck, on Pacific Coast Highway, The Orange County Register reports. The fatal car accident occurred the evening of December 24, 2009 on Coast Highway between Bayside Drive and Jamboree Road, Newport Beach police officials said. Police do not believe alcohol was a factor, but they do believe excessive speed may have caused the car to go out of control. Two pedestrians have been seriously injured in separate San Francisco car accidents after being struck by vehicles the morning of December 21, 2009. According to a Bay City News report, the first accident involved a 54-year-old woman, who was hit by a car at about 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Van Ness Avenue and Grove Street, near City Hall. San Francisco Police said about 10 minutes later another woman was struck by a different vehicle, near Quint Street and Palou Avenue in the Bayview area. Both victims sustained injuries that were life-threatening and were transported to San Francisco General Hospital. One person sustained serious injuries in a San Diego car accident the morning of December 22, 2009, after the truck carrying the victim was rear-ended by another vehicle in National City. According to a 10news report, the two-car collision occurred on the Interstate 805 near 47th Street. The pickup truck was apparently pulled over on to the right shoulder when the vehicle was rear-ended. One person from the truck was taken to a local hospital with major injuries, California Highway Patrol officials said. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this injury car crash. A 24-year-old bicyclist sustained serious injuries in a San Diego truck accident, after a semi-trailer struck him the morning of December 18, 2009. According to a news report in the San Diego Union-Tribune, the bicycle versus truck collision occurred at the intersection of Orange and Fairmount Avenue in the City Heights area of San Diego, when the semi-trailer made a right turn from eastbound Orange Avenue on to Fairmount Avenue. The bicyclist, who was on the right side of the big rig, apparently fell off his bike and was pinned under the semi's right front tire, which caused major injuries to his lower body.
