Two drivers suffered injuries in a Los Angeles car accident after an SUV crashed into another car at a street intersection in Torrance, California. According to a news report in the Daily Breeze, the accident occurred the morning of December 2, 2009 at the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and 178th Street. The two vehicles collided and the SUV was pushed into a building in the 17700 block of Crenshaw. No one in the building was injured. Both the drivers were taken to an area hospital with injuries. The extent or seriousness of their injuries is not yet known.

I truly hope that neither driver sustained life-threatening injuries in this car accident. I wish both the injured victims the very best for a quick and full recovery. It's indeed a relief that no one else was hurt as a result of this car crash. The injured victims will be in my prayers.

Torrance Car Accidents

There were four fatalities and 499 injuries involving car accidents in Torrance, California, according to California Highway Patrol's 2007 traffic accident statistics. Countywide, 712 deaths and 56,475 injuries were reported as a result of car accidents in 2007.

It's not clear based on this news report, how or why this car accident occurred. It seems to me because the crash took place at an intersection, one of the drivers may have failed to yield the right-of-way. There are many unanswered questions here. Did one of the drivers run a red light? Was one of the drivers impaired, distracted or negligent in some way? I trust traffic investigators are looking into these issues and more in order to determine what happened here and who was at-fault for this injury car accident.

Liability Issues in Car Accidents

In such cases, the negligent party could be held liable for the accident and the resulting injuries. The injured victims, in these types of car accident cases, would be well-advised to consult with a reputed personal injury attorney in Los Angeles, with a successful track record of financially pursuing negligent drivers on behalf of injured clients. It would also be in the victim's best interest to avoid talking to insurance adjusters or attorneys for other parties, prior to getting a skilled car accident lawyer to represent them.
