A woman sustained injuries in an Orange County car accident when her foot was run over by a vehicle as she crossed a freeway off-ramp. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the pedestrian-car crash occurred the night of October 25, 2009. The woman who has not been identified yet, said she was walking in a crosswalk at the 5 Freeway off-ramp on El Toro Road in Lake Forest when her foot was struck. California Highway Patrol officials are dealing with this car accident because the crosswalk is part of the freeway.
I'm relieved that this woman did not suffer major injuries in this pedestrian accident. I wish her the very best for a quick and complete recovery from her foot injuries.

This news report is sketchy at best. There are still several questions that need to be answered in this incident, to determine who was responsible. Apparently, the incident occurred the night of October 25 and the woman's husband called police a few hours after the collision, in the early morning hours of October 26. It's not clear whether the driver of the car who ran over the woman's foot left the scene of the accident or whether the woman "felt fine" after the accident and told the driver to leave.
