A 26-year-old man was fatally injured in a San Bernardino, California motorcycle accident after he lost control of his 2005 Kawasaki Ninja and crashed into a garage the afternoon of November 17, 2009, the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reports. The man, who is yet to be identified, was riding his Kawasaki near a friend's house when he lost control and crashed into the garage door. The incident occurred in Rancho Cucamonga, California. The man was not wearing a helmet and sustained severe injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The San Bernardino Sheriff's Department's Major Accident Investigation Team is looking into this fatal motorcycle crash.

A 45-year-old woman was injured in an Orange County car accident after her bicycle was struck by a car at an Irvine intersection. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the accident occurred the morning of November 16, 2009, when a 71-year-old man driving east on Irvine Center Drive crashed into the female bicyclist who was apparently crossing the intersection. Irvine police say it is not clear how bad the woman's injuries were. The driver was uninjured. The woman was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. A 24-year-old skateboarder has died in a San Diego car accident after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. The man, who has not been identified, was heading west in the right eastbound lane of Hacienda Drive near South Emerald Drive in Vista early morning on November 15, 2009 when he was hit by a white 1987 BMW driven by a 23-year-old man. Apparently, witnesses told officials that the skateboarder crossed directly into the path of the car, which was heading east. The victim was treated at the scene, but he reportedly died before being taken to the hospital. The driver of the BMW has not been arrested pending a police investigation.

The city of Auburn, California, is considering new dangerous dog regulations after a teenager was injured last September in a dog bite incident when four pit bulls attacked her. According to a news10 report, council members are looking into passing new laws to regulate aggressive dog breeds. But pit bull owners and activists are concerned that the city would try to impose a breed ban. People came to the council meeting with photos of their pit bulls in an attempt to convince officials that pit bulls can be "kind, sweet" dogs.

A 46-year-old woman sustained critical injuries in a San Diego car accident after she was struck by a van at a parking lot in Chula Vista, California. According to a 10news report, the woman who has not yet been identified, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition with a skull fracture. The pedestrian accident occurred the evening of November 12, 2009, when the woman was walking in a parking lot near Broadway and Palomar Street. The van, which was being driven by a 43-year-old man, struck her. Officials say the van was traveling slowly through the parking lot at the time of the collision. When the driver realized that he had hit someone, he looked out the window and saw the woman lying under the van before the front left tire. No arrests have been made pending a police investigation.

Darlene Johnson, 65, was killed in a San Bernardino car accident after she was struck by a vehicle the evening of November 10, 2009. According to a news report in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, Johnson was walking on Southwood Lane near the corner of Westwood Lane in Highland, California, when she was hit by a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup was apparently making a left turn onto Westwood from Southwood, when the collision occurred. The driver stopped and called emergency personnel. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mark Anthony Reyes, 28, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident after he lost control of his car and crashed into a pole the morning of November 7, 2009. According to The Santa Clarita Signal, Reyes was driving his 2000 Honda Civic west on Soledad Canyon Road near Gladding Way in Santa Clarita when he lost control and struck a power pole. Los Angeles Sheriff's Department officials say they are still looking into what caused Reyes to lose control of the Honda. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Reyes died of multiple traumatic injuries.

Los Angeles Car Accident Injures Motorcycle Officer

Timothy Kay, a motorcycle officer with the Los Angeles Police Department was seriously injured in a Los Angeles car accident after he collided with another vehicle on the 5 Freeway on November 7, 2009. According to The Bakersfield Californian, Kay was headed north on the 5 freeway near the Tejon Summit, when he collided with the left rear of a 2001 Chevy pickup truck traveling on the number two lane. California Highway Patrol officials say Kay lost control of his motorcycle and was ejected. He suffered a broken right arm, cuts on his forehead and a major cut on the back of his head. He was taken to an area hospital. The driver of the pickup was identified as Joel Lopez. Kay is said to be in stable condition and recovering from his injuries.

A man was killed in a Long Beach car accident the night of November 6, 2009, as he rode his bicycle across the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and 6th Street in Long Beach, the Press Telegram reports. Police say a preliminary investigation showed that the victim, who has been identified only as a 65-year-old Asian man, was crossing 6th Street against a red light when he was struck by an eastbound 1995 Chevrolet van. The victim was taken to an area hospital where he succumbed to his critical injuries. The driver of the Chevy van was interviewed and released at the scene. An investigation is still ongoing.
