Rosa Macias, 64, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident after the stalled vehicle in which she was a passenger was struck by another car on the 210 Freeway. According to a news report in the Pasadena Star News, Macias was a passenger in a 1996 Geo Prizm that was stopped in the carpool lane of the 210 Freeway in Pasadena the night of January 24, 2010. A 31-year-old man driving a 2005 Infiniti, who failed to see the stalled vehicle ahead of him, struck the right rear of the Prizm. The impact from the crash caused the Prizm to spin around and the Infiniti to catch fire. Macias died at the scene and the driver, a 63-year-old man, was hospitalized with moderate injuries.

I offer my deepest condolences to the Macias family for their tragic and heartbreaking loss. They will certainly be in my thoughts and prayers. I also wish the driver of the Prizm the very best for a speedy and complete recovery from his injuries.
