Nine people suffered injuries in an Oregon car accident on the Oregon 20 near Albany, the night of December 24, 2009. According to a news report in The Oregonian, a 1991 Ford Taurus driven by 19-year-old Andrew Scott Tokstad was going west when it crossed the centerline and crashed into an eastbound 2006 Suzuki Forenza that was being driven by 18-year-old Andrea Logan.
Head-On Collision Causes Injuries
Tokstad's Ford then collided head-on with a 1999 Chrysler Cirrus. Tokstad and three passengers in his vehicle -- one adult, a 15-month-old and a 2-month-old -- sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Chrysler, 32-year-old Sudhakar Thakillapatti, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Four of his passengers -- 28-year-old Trashana Hanumantha Rao; Silvakamara Thakillapatti, 31; Sushma Thakillapatti; and Bindu Lumen -- were also taken to the hospital with injuries. Logan and her three passengers -- ages 15, 8 and 6 -- were uninjured.
I sympathize with all the victims who were seriously injured in this crash. I wish them all the very best for a speedy and complete recovery and hope their injuries were not life-threatening. They will certainly be in my prayers.
