California Car Accident Reports

A 50-year-old woman was killed in a Los Angeles car accident after she was struck by a recreational vehicle the night of February 28, 2010. According to a news report in the Daily Breeze, the accident occurred at the intersection of Century Boulevard and Van Ness Avenue in Inglewood. Mauricio Vigo, 9, sustained fatal injuries in a Los Angeles car accident after a vehicle struck him at a street intersection, as he was riding his scooter. According to a news report in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Mauricio was riding a scooter downhill turning from Wesleyan Avenue to Temple Avenue, in Walnut, the afternoon of February 7, 2010, when he collided with a 2008 Mercedes Benz SUV driven by a 49-year-old man. Rosa Macias, 64, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident after the stalled vehicle in which she was a passenger was struck by another car on the 210 Freeway. According to a news report in the Pasadena Star News, Macias was a passenger in a 1996 Geo Prizm that was stopped in the carpool lane of the 210 Freeway in Pasadena the night of January 24, 2010. A 31-year-old man driving a 2005 Infiniti, who failed to see the stalled vehicle ahead of him, struck the right rear of the Prizm. The impact from the crash caused the Prizm to spin around and the Infiniti to catch fire. Macias died at the scene and the driver, a 63-year-old man, was hospitalized with moderate injuries. Three people sustained injuries in a Los Angeles car accident that involved two drunk drivers the morning of January 23, 2010. According to a news report in the Los Angeles Times, a car traveling east on Sherman Way was making a U-turn in the 13800 block, when it was hit by an eastbound pickup truck. A woman who sustained fatal injuries in a hit-and-run Los Angeles car accident early morning on January 15, 2010, has been identified by local officials as Charmmaine Ouk, 25. According to a KPCC news report, Ouk was riding in a car driven by someone else, when she became ill and got out of the vehicle in an alley. She then ran onto Normandie Avenue near 204th Street in the Harbor Gateway area. That's when a gray or brown minivan struck her. The driver fled the scene of the crash. Estephani Orduna, 19, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident after the driver of the car in which she was a passenger lost control of the vehicle and crashed. According to an Associated Press news report, Orduna was a passenger in a Ford Mustang, whose driver, 19-year-old Jesus Lopez, was involved in a street race near downtown Los Angeles, with another vehicle -- a Honda Civic -- the night of January 18, 2010. A 44-year-old woman was critically injured in a Los Angeles car accident after her minivan went off the side of Malibu Canyon Road the night of January 16, 2010. According to a CBS news report, the southbound minivan was near a tunnel when it went over the side of the road and fell 300 feet down an embankment. The woman was transported to an area hospital in critical condition after she was rescued from the wreckage. California Highway Patrol officials are still looking into what caused this accident. Charmmaine Ouk, 25, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident after a vehicle struck her when she got out of the car she was riding in, the morning on January 15, 2010. According to a news report on KPCC Radio's Web site, Ouk was a passenger in a car driven by another woman when she became sick and got out of the vehicle in an alley. She then apparently ran onto Normandie Avenue, near 204th Street, where she was struck by a gray or brown minivan whose driver did not stop. The van was last seen going north on Normandie in the Harbor Gateway area. Police are seeking eyewitnesses in a Los Angeles car accident, which seriously injured two girls, ages 14 and 3. According to a news report in the Los Angeles Times, the teenager and her young niece were crossing Main Street near 43rd Street in South Los Angeles, when a vehicle hit them the evening of December 28, 2009. Both girls sustained major injuries. Police apparently have video footage of the accident and the girls being struck. Authorities describe the driver as a woman, driving an older two-door sedan. A mom who was trying to strap her child to the car seat of her van, sustained injuries in a Los Angeles car accident, after she was struck by an SUV. The accident happened in Glendora, and the driver of the SUV fled the scene of the crash after striking the 39-year-old woman. The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reports that the Ford Expedition SUV struck the woman's Honda Odyssey van in the 1100 block of East Cypress Avenue the evening of December 13, 2009.
