Who Was At Fault?

This news report unfortunately, does not provide much information about how or why this fatal car accident occurred. There are several unanswered questions here. Where was the bicyclist riding at the time of the collision? Was he riding across the roadway and ahead of the city truck? Was he riding along the side of the road? Was the driver of the city vehicle impaired, distracted, speeding or otherwise driving negligently at the time of the collision?

Liability Issues

If the driver of the city vehicle is determined to have been at fault, then the driver as well as his or her employer could be held liable for the accident and resulting injuries. Since this accident involves a governmental agency, namely the city, please remember that any claim against such an entity in California must be properly filed within 180 days of the accident or injury.

Navarro's family would be well-advised to retain the services of a reputed San Diego personal injury lawyer, who has successfully held negligent drivers accountable for their actions. If negligence or wrongdoing was involved, a deceased car accident victim's family can file a wrongful death claim seeking compensation to cover funeral expenses, lost future earnings, loss of love and companionship, and other related damages.
