Two suspected drunk drivers were arrested in connection with a San Diego car accident that resulted in six injuries. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the collision occurred early morning on March 11, 2010 on the Interstate 805. The series of collisions began when 34-year-old Francis Rolan Samson Bueno, who was driving a Saturn, lost control and crashed into the median wall. A Nissan Sentra being driven by 23-year-old Emmanuel Zapien then struck the Saturn. Both Bueno and Zapien were arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and were injured in this DUI collision.

Several Injured in Car Accident

This was when a Good Samarian, 33-year-old Sean Daniel Franklin, got off his car and tried to direct traffic by placing flares on the roadway. Franklin was struck by a BMW and sustained major injuries. The BMW fled the scene. The fourth crash occurred when Eduardo Michael Diaz, who was unable to stop in time to avoid the traffic ahead, crashed into an unknown vehicle. The driver of that vehicle also drove off without stopping. Diaz sustained major injuries in the collision. Five of the motorists involved were hospitalized with major injuries. Police are looking for the two hit-and-run drivers.

I sincerely hope the victims who have sustained major injuries in this crash, especially Franklin and Diaz, recover quickly and completely from their injuries. I trust that the hit-and-run drivers in this case will soon be apprehended and brought to justice.
